WorkCover Recommendation. Taken from First Aid in the Workplace 2001

In summary:
If you employ more than 25 people at a work place you need at least one person trained in first aid. “Trained first aid personnel” means either:

  • A person who holds a current first aid certificate issued after successful completion of a WorkCoverapproved first aid course; or

  • A person who holds a current occupational first aid certificate

  • Additional training as appropriate for the number of employees, location of work and type of work being carried out may also be necessary.

  • Refresher first aid training must be scheduled to ensure that general skills are kept up to date.
